Week of September 10

I love September! The weather changes, autumn begins, my youngest daughter turns 21 this month and my birthday is on the 13th!

The 13th is a very important day to remember - IT'S PICTURE DAY at AOT Middle School. The Band, Orchestra, Steel Drums and Chimes will all have their group pictures taken on Thursday. Everyone should come to school dressed (they can change later) in their Music Uniform. Just a reminder; the Music Uniform is....Black Dress Pants, Black Dress shoes, Black socks, PLAIN white, collared shirts (can be long or short sleeved) I am told the pictures will be taken before 3rd period.PLEASE REMEMBER YOUR BAND OR ORCHESTRA INSTRUMENT!!!!!!

REHEARSALS - Monday; Beginning Band/ Advanced Orchestra
                             Tuesday; Steel Drums/ Drama/ Beginning Orchestra
                             Wednesday; none this week.
                             Thursday; Chimes/ Beginning Band
                             Friday; Advanced Band


All classes begin with the singing 2 verses of the National Anthem.
5th Grade - NO HOMEWORK THIS WEEK DUE TO EARLY OUT ON WEDNESDAY.
Monday - Singing. Working on pages 9 and 10 in our recorder books.
Wednesday - No Class (I'm at the Elementary School)
Friday - Singing Day

6th Grade - NO HOMEWORK THIS WEEK DUE TO EARLY OUT ON WEDNESDAY.
Monday - Singing. Working on Pages 16 and 17 in our recorder books.
Wednesday - No Class.
Friday - Singing Day.

Grades 7/8
Tuesday - reviewing placement of stems and dividing notes/rests into measures.
Homework assignment - due on Thursday, Sept. 13
        If your child is absent on Tuesday, they will find their assignment - with their name on the page   on the white board in the Music Room. They should pick up their homework as soon as they  return to school, so it can be turned in on time. EX> Absent on Tuesday, but returns to school on Wednesday. HW should be picked up on Wednesday, so it can be turned in on time on Thursday.
Thursday - Reveiw of Tuesday's work. Singing.
